Safety Pointers for Cooking in Gas Ranges
Cooking is fun! It gives you relaxation from a tiring day and most importantly, it will feed you. Of course when you plan to cook, you need to prepare all the ingredients needed for your recipe as well as the kitchenware to use. But, the most important tool that you need to have is your own gas range.
Gas range differs in brands, sizes and designs. They often are built together with an oven and you seldom see standalone gas ranges. But regardless of the variations, there is one common thing about these gas ranges and that is the fact that it is unsafe at some points. Because you are also using LPG or Liquefied Petroleum Gas for your gas range, you should know the safety pointers to apply before, during and after cooking.
Before you start cooking, make sure that you have checked properly the LPG tank and the tube from leaks. You may also want to smell the burner head first for some foul order like leaking gas before you open the tank.
During your cooking session, always see to it that no other light materials, or objects that elicit fire. If the burner is not in use, do not leave it open. Follow the standard heat requirement for your preferred recipe, too.
When you’re all done in cooking, make sure to turn off the tank of the LPG and the burners. When wiping the gas range, do not go near the burner especially when you have just finished cooking to avoid getting burned. Always practice a “clean as you go” act.
When you encounter problems like not lighting burners, wipe the burner with a hot, damp rag. If things get worse, seek for the help of “The Appliance Service People”.
